The England FA have announced they will “honour” Italy international Davide Astori at Wembley ahead of their friendly on March 27.
Fiorentina captain Astori turned 31 in January and was found dead in the team hotel room this morning, having suffered cardiac arrest due to natural causes.
He had 14 senior caps for Italy and one goal, scored against Brazil, so was expected to be in the Azzurri squad facing England and Argentina in upcoming friendlies.

“All of us at the FA are truly saddened by the news of Davide Astori’s death. Our condolences are with his family and all who knew him,” wrote the England Football Association on Twitter.
“We plan to honour Davide when we host the Azzurri at Wembley Stadium later this month.”
