Emerson Royal medical date finally set for Milan with special number

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Milan-linked Emerson Royal in Premier League action against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Emerson Royal is expected to land in Italy on Sunday and undergo his Milan medical on Monday after finalising the €15m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur, choosing a very special shirt number.

Weeks and even months of negotiations finally seem to have concluded with the two clubs exchanging documents today.

However, Rossoneri fans will be forced to wait a little longer to welcome him at the airport, because La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the player won’t fly in until Sunday August 11.

He can then have his medical tests on Monday before signing the contract, as he had agreed personal terms with the club some time ago.

Emerson Royal chooses special Milan number

It is already reported that the 25-year-old has chosen the Number 22 jersey, which was also worn in the past by fellow Brazilian Ricky Kaka.

Multiple sources agree that the final fee paid by Milan will be €15m plus up to €2m in performance-related bonuses.
