There were two highly dubious decisions at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia, as Domenico Berardi had an early goal incorrectly ruled offside and Atalanta’s penalty was very controversial.
“Today’s game was decided by the German Denis penalty. It is the third consecutive match that incidents like this have gone against us and I can’t understand why,” Di Francesco told Sky Sport Italia.
“Let’s also not forget the Berardi goal, which was not offside at all. These two decisions falsified the result.
“We must do well to leave the bitterness of this match behind us and prepare for the next test with Roma. I am at least comforted by the performance, which was a big improvement on Bologna.
“I liked my lads, they showed the right attitude in a difficult arena where many top teams have struggled.”
