Dortmund set to snatch Gabbiadini

Italy Under-21 star Manolo Gabbiadini is reportedly one step away from a move to Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund.

Gabbiadini is a 20-year-old attacker who has set the Under-21 scene alight with 10 goals in his first 14 appearances for Ciro Ferrara's Azzurrini.

His progress has been stunted at club level, however, with German Denis blocking his path to Atalanta’s first team. Gabbiadini made just eight starts for the Bergamo outfit this season in Serie A, scoring once.

Juventus were thought to be contemplating a bid for the young target man, but, according to Sport Mediaset, Dortmund is now his likeliest destination.

Jurgen Klopp's side have a track record of harnessing and developing young talent, a philosophy which has underpinned their recent success.

The Westphalians have won back to back Bundesliga titles and also thrashed Bayern Munich 5-2 in the German Cup Final in May, completing their first ever League and Cup double.
