Gianluigi Donnarumma says it was an honour to meet Milan legends at the club’s 120th birthday party and dedicated an award to Sinisa Mihajlovic.
Donnarumma is in Turin at the Golden Boy awards to receive the award for best Italian Under 21 player and thanked former Milan coach Mihajlovic for changing his life.
“I will be forever grateful to Sinisa. He had the courage to give me my debut at old 16 years old. They say I am a phenomenon, but I only think of working hard.”

Donnarumma says that despite Milan’s bad start to the season, things are getting better.
“We are doing well, too bad for yesterday’s draw, but the team is improving and we want to win. Now we just have to work to have a good game against Atalanta.
“With Sassuolo all that was missing was a goal, it’s there that we have to improve.”
Milan celebrated their 120th birthday yesterday, and many of the club’s former stars were at San Siro for the event.
“To meet the champions of the past had a great effect and it was an honour to play at San Siro where they have written many pages in football history.”
The shot stopper will be Italy’s No 1 going into Euro 2020, and Donnarumma wants to have a great tournament.
“We were good during the qualifying group and now we must aim for a great tournament and to go as far as possible.”
