Donadoni: ‘Parma deserved more’

Roberto Donadoni felt Parma “deserved something more” than a 2-1 defeat to Roma this evening.

The Ducali had cancelled out Adem Ljajic’s goal with Paolo De Ceglie, but Miralem Pjanic curled in a magnificent late free kick.

“The players were excellent against a wonderful team, made up of quality stars,” the Coach said in his Press conference.

“I am only disappointed with the result, as we deserved something more. The free kick was a gem from Pjanic and when you have players of that quality, these things can happen.

“We did well to allow Roma few clear scoring opportunities, trying to make it difficult for them and in that sense I am satisfied.”

Roma are top of the Serie A table with Juventus, who also have a 100 per cent record after four rounds.

“They are very close and have players of top level potential,” continued Donadoni.

“Mind you, just look at the budgets available to different clubs and you can see why over the last two or three seasons there have been some teams notching up enormous points tallies.”
