Roberto Donadoni told Parma to expect a potential upset in the Coppa Italia tonight. “Lecce have nothing to lose.”
The Stadio Tardini hosts the Third Round tie, which kicks off at 19.45 UK time, and represents Parma’s first official match of the season.
“Lecce have nothing to lose and everything to gain,” warned Coach Donadoni in a Press conference.
“Aside from Fabrizio Miccoli, they have other quality players in this Lega Pro side. They already knocked out Serie B team Ternana, so got past a club of a higher division. That means we must face this match with caution.
“We’ll have to be wary, show maturity and patience to strike at the right moment. We mustn’t get frustrated if the spaces are closed up.
“After the performance in London against Fulham, I expect even further improvement.”
Parma earned a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage last week in a pre-season friendly, where Antonio Cassano impressed with his assists.
“Antonio is as ready as he can be, considering for the last three years he hasn’t had pre-season training. He is working very well here and, if he continues with this determination, will soon be in peak form.”
