“I saw the team looking eager and we want to make up some of the lost ground from the first few weeks of this season,” said the coach in his press conference.
The Sardinians managed just one point from the opening three rounds, but have made numerous changes in the final days of the transfer session.
“We’ve got to take the positives from what we’ve seen and learn from previous errors. Torino will say the same about their campaign so far.
“I don’t think my starting XI will change much from the side that faced Atalanta, where there were certainly some positives to take. Consistency is fundamental now.
“Balance is also crucial and we cannot afford to use too many attacking players simultaneously right now. Adam Ounas hasn’t played for a while, so needs to be introduced slowly, but I think he can be a trequartista as well as a winger.
“Joao Pedro is in great shape and I changed my tactical system in part to suit his characteristics.”
