The Juventus legend is on the lookout for the next chapter in his career, having confirmed that he will leave Australian A-League outfit Sydney FC after two years.
Today, the 39-year-old is quoted as telling British tabloid The Sun that one option could be a move to the Scottish Premier League and to Celtic, if they are interested.
It was reported that The Bhoys were one side to try and sign the former Italy international in 2012, when he left Juve.
“Two years ago it was interesting and it would be interesting again,” Del Piero has apparently told The Sun.
“If we could talk then great. If you want I’ll give you my phone number and you can pass it on! Celtic are a great team and I’ve always enjoyed playing in Scotland so who knows?
“We were in contact with Celtic but it didn’t come to anything. But I was very interested in moving to Scotland.”
