Del Neri blasts ‘incredible’ referee

Gigi Del Neri was furious with the referee in Sicily. “Lately there are some incredible decisions against us. We want respect.”

The Bianconeri were beaten 2-1 in Palermo, but felt they deserved a spot-kick for Cesare Bovo's handling offence in the first half.

“The referee was right there. I don't know if he didn't see it or didn't want to see it,” commented the Coach.

“The referee was right there. I don't know if he didn't see it or didn't want to see it,” commented the Coach.

“Lately there are some incredible decisions against us and this evening was no exception. Some of these penalties and free kicks are so obvious that it's just shocking to see them denied.

“We want respect. They don't have to give us all the penalties in the world, but just what we are owed when it is evident and you cannot say you didn't see it.

“We continue to play and work hard, then I think we have been denied certain things in recent weeks.”

The 2-1 loss represented Juve's third consecutive defeat between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, despite marking the debut of Andrea Barzagli and Alessandro Matri.

“There were signs of growth within the team and I would've kept Matri on for 90 minutes, but he had cramp.”

Juventus are protesting the refereeing decisions by ordering their players not to speak to the media, so only Del Neri and director general Giuseppe Marotta are available.
