Vicente Del Bosque said Spain “have time to analyse” their Round of 16 meeting with Italy after a shock 2-1 defeat to Croatia.

The two Euro 2012 Finalists will face off in Paris on Monday June 27 at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

“We have time to analyse the game,” said the Spain Coach in his Press conference.

“This is football. We controlled the game, but football has some strange situations. Italy play well, but today we did not. We have to prepare ourselves to face them.

“The players are not happy with this result, there was silence in the locker room, as nobody likes to lose. I think we played fairly well, but had this dip in concentration during the final minutes. I cannot really complain about my players.

“We were always at the edge of their area, but were unprepared for the Croatian counter-attack. Now we have to be ready, because we are still in the competition, albeit not on the side of the draw we wanted to be on.”

Sergio Ramos had the chance to restore Spain’s lead, but saw his penalty saved.

“When there is a penalty we have some choices and who feels up to it will take it. That was accepted by the group. We cannot blame David De Gea for the goals, as the second was on the counter and very close up. We all lost together.

“Croatia are certainly one of the teams who play the best football. Today they made five changes who refreshed the squad.”
