The Neroverdi were defeated 2-1 by the Rossoneri at the Mapei Stadium with Rafael Leao who scored the opener after just six seconds.
“We can lose against this Milan side, they have so much self-belief right now. It impressed me. They are aware they are a strong team and they showed it,” De Zerbi told Sky Sport Italia.
“However, it was too easy for them to score goals and I believe the responsibility for today’s defeat is mine.
“There are some players who do not see themselves as strong as I see them. Maybe I’m asking too much and I see some of them stronger than what they really are. I need to analyse the situation properly.
“I didn’t like rules when I was young, maybe I need to give them some breathing. They are serious guys, who have the right attitude.
“Sometimes self-confidence is needed and it would be good not to care about a mistake, playing without fear.”
