“We are strong, there are sides out there stronger than us, but I can’t stop dreaming now. That would mean training slowly, eating worse, going to bed late.”
Totti hung up his boots and joined director of sport Monchi’s staff, so will De Rossi follow in a similar direction?
“I like my lifestyle and I already know I’ll suffer when it comes time to stop. I have to think about what comes next, because I don’t want to just wake up one morning and find myself wondering what I’ll do now.
“I don’t like wearing a tie, I still see myself with football boots on. I could be a Coach and that would certainly be enjoyable. Maybe I could be the assistant manger to Eusebio DI Francesco, Luciano Spalletti or another tactician I got along well with.
“That way, I could continue on the field and in the locker room, not behind a desk.”
