De Rossi makes Dybala decision as Roma prepare to stop Inter star Calhanoglu

Daniele De Rossi is assessing Roma’s options to stop Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Leandro Paredes, Edoardo Bove, or even Stephan El-Shaarawy will be tasked with following the Turkish playmaker at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

The Giallorossi are preparing to host table leaders Inter at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday night.

The Nerazzurri have won 18 of their 22 Serie A games this season, and Turkish midfielder Calhanoglu has been playing a key role in the middle of the park in 2023-24.

The 30-year-old was the MOTM in the recent 1-0 victory over Juventus and has already collected nine goals and three assists in 21 Serie A games this season.

He will be among the biggest threats for Roma this coming weekend and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, De Rossi is evaluating his options to limit the ex-Milan star.

According to a report on Thursday’s printed edition of the Rome-based paper on page 3, Paredes or Bove could take care of the Turkey international at the Stadio Olimpico. De Rossi could slightly change the line-up by including Bove for El Shaarawy, but if the latter starts, he could also be tasked with tracking back and disturbing Calhanoglu in the build-up.

Surely, Paulo Dybala will have limited defensive duties and be more involved in the final third.

De Rossi has recently explained how the Argentinean forward needs freedom on the pitch, like his ex-teammate Francesco Totti, so other Roma players will deal with Calhanoglu in the middle of the park on Saturday.
