Paulo Dybala starts on the bench against Juventus, and Daniele De Rossi explains that it can be ‘tricky’ for him and Matias Soulé to play together in some games: ‘We face opponents who move the ball well.’
Roma visit Juventus at the Allianz Stadium tonight.
Dybala was expected to start, leaving new signing Soulé on the bench, but De Rossi eventually snubbed La Joya. An even bigger surprise is that 19-year-old Niccolò Pisilli starts, leaving another 2022 World Cup winner, Leandro Paredes on the bench.
“Pisilli has plenty of freshness and quality,” De Rossi told Sky Sport before the final whistle.
“It’s a signal. I think he is a strong player. It could be better for him to play 30 games out on loan, but he can also play 30 games here.”
Why did he pick just one between Soulé and Dybala?
“It can be a bit tricky in some games, but we didn’t have much time to experiment,” said De Rossi.
“We face an opponent that keeps possession and moves the ball well.”
