De La lauds Cavani and Jovetic

Napoli's Aurelio De Laurentiis is eagerly anticipating Week 24’s meeting with Fiorentina, so he can see Edinson Cavani and Stevan Jovetic on the same pitch.

Uruguayan striker Cavani has impressed in the 18 months he has spent at the San Paolo, whilst La Viola have equally come to rely on Jovetic’s scoring touch to aid their League campaign.

The two players will likely be integral to any attacking threat their respective sides will initiate in Friday evening’s League clash in Florence.

“Edi is an absolute bomber,” declared President De Laurentiis on Radio Blu.

“I already followed him at Palermo, I was convinced of his value despite some trying to convince me otherwise. They told me he would not be functional for our project, but instead, Mazzarri and I decided to take him.”

Jovetic is only a goal behind Cavani in the Capocannoniere charts.

“I have respect for my friend [Fiorentina President Andrea] Della Valle, otherwise I would insist that we’d take him away. He’s a wonderful talent.

“We’re talking about two players who have a long career ahead. They will be protagonists for years to come.

“I’m convinced it will be an incredible match [tonight], two clubs face each other each with an important history to them.

“Both [Walter Mazzarri and Delio Rossi] are great Coaches. Fiorentina are recovering fast, I am convinced that the game will be exciting.”
