Sky Sport Italia and TMW both claim President Massimo Cellino is furious at today’s 1-0 loss to Atalanta and could wield the axe.
Options include Davide Ballardini and the return of Roberto Donadoni, who was sacked in August, but De Canio is another alternative.
“I have not had any contact, so I prefer not to get involved,” De Canio told TWM.
“Would I think about it? Cagliari already have a Coach and if I were in his place I would be disappointed to hear a colleague say certain things. It’s an issue of respect.
“If it happens, then we’ll see, but I have not had any contact.”
Ficcadenti was also asked about his situation following the 1-0 defeat to Atalanta.
