“At the moment he is one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A, “said D’Aversa in his post-game press conference.
“He has reached a maturity which makes me happy. Both the club and I have invested in a player we know. What I like about him is his maturity as a person.
“I hope he stays like that. He’s playing with a little problem, but my pride is seeing him clench his teeth and sweat.”
Dejan Kulusevski returned to form following a sticky period in the aftermath of his transfer to Juventus.
“There was a moment of difficulty for Dejan, he also had a physical problem. Now he looks at himself as a Juventus investment.
“He must play for the age that he is. He’s done what he can do on the pitch because he put his qualities into play.
“He has to improve, but he has to play calmly.”
D’Aversa dedicated the result to striker Roberto Inglese, who is sidelined for two months with an injury picked up in last week’s clash against Juventus.
“We played 60 minutes of excellent football, then we dropped down a level but the merits go to the lads for how they interpreted the game. We played as a team and deservedly won the game.
“The win is dedicated to Inglese.”
