The Ducali still sit 19th in the Serie A table after losing 2-1 away at Hellas Verona.
“It was important to take home a positive result, our position in the table does not give us serenity as we saw with their first goal.
“It was too easy for them to score and we must reflect on that. We must do everything to take home good results and we are not doing it, we must face this situation.”
“I don’t believe in good and bad luck, I think determination counts. I don’t care about what happened with the previous coach, we must find the same spirit we had had over the last two seasons.
“We are doing too many mistakes, we can’t be afraid to play a football game," the coach continued.
“It’s not about commitment, I can’t blame my players for that. It’s not easy to transmit determination to players who don’t know Serie A and the language, there are other players who must transmit those values we used to have.”
The Ducali scored their first goal in the last four games.
“Cornelius picked up an injury and we had already decided he couldn’t play the whole game. His substitution was a negative turning point for us,” D’Aversa said.
“I don’t want to compare this season with the last one. Inglese is injured, Cornelius had just recovered, Zirkzee is an investment for the future.
“We are struggling to score goals, but I can’t blame the strikers, it’s something that depends on the whole team.
