RC Lens defender Kevin Danso has hit out at Roma again after his move to the Stadio Olimpico fell through this summer, suggesting that there were ‘other reasons’ why his transfer collapsed, not just relating to his failed medical test.

Danso travelled to the Italian capital at the end of August for a proposed €25m move to the Stadio Olimpico, but the transfer ultimately collapsed after reported concerns surrounding the cardiac element of the medical tests.

The issue that Roma flagged up meant that the Austria international had to go through further tests before he was allowed to return to competitive action with Lens after he returned back from Italy.

Danso still upset after collapsed Roma transfer

Danso says that he is angry rather than upset about the move, and suggested that there may have been other reasons why his proposed move to Roma fell through.

“I’d never had an explanation like that before, having passed all kinds of medical tests in England. I was told that they were much more severe about this type of analysis in Italy, but I knew that I was fine physically,” the Lens defender told l’Equipe.

“Maybe my transfer fell through for another reason. I had to do numerous tests to discover that I could actually play, the situation had become so complicated.”
