D’Ambrosio: ‘Inter, sign Darmian’

Inter full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio has urged the club to sign Matteo Darmian from Torino this summer.

The 26-year-old played with Darmian at Torino, and insists he would not be afraid of the competition that the Italian international would represent.

“I’d be happy if we were to get Darmian,” D’Ambrosio told Sky.

“He’s a friend, and and the competition wouldn’t scare me. I only think about improving.”

D’Ambrosio also took the time to discuss the Beneamata’s recent upturn in form, which has seen them play themselves back into Europa League contention.

“The team has made a step forward in terms of performance and mentality in recent games, but we have to keep taking it one game at a time.

“[Coach Roberto] Mancini is always calm, but he makes us understand that we cannot allow our intensity to drop.

“We have to forge our own way forward, because we are masters of our own destiny.”
