Cuadrado looking for pay-rise

It looks ever more likely that Juan Guillermo Cuadrado will stay at Fiorentina, but there may be a conflict over a pay-rise.

The Colombian winger will be happy to commit to La Viola, but wants a substantial pay rise that reflects his value, writes La Nazione.

Fiorentina have always indicated that Cuadrado would not be sold for less than €40m. The 26-year-old was linked with moves to Barcelona and Manchester United, but the arrival there of Douglas Pereira and Angel di Maria respectively, seems to have removed the need for a right-flank player.

La Nazione further reports that Cuadrado is asking for a salary equal to that of Mario Gomez, who makes €3m a year.

While Fiorentina are willing to enter into talks about a new contract, they are not willing to give Cuadrado more than what other players, such as Giuseppe Rossi and Borja Valero, are earning.
