Cragno: ‘Happy at Cagliari’

Reported Inter target Alessio Cragno assures he’s “very happy” at Cagliari, as there’s nothing “concrete” from other clubs.

The 24-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for Samir Handanovic, but he’s currently focusing on his form in Sardinia.

“I’m very happy here,” Cragno told Corriere dello Sport.

“Dreams are beautiful but they don’t make much sense if they’re accompanied by something concrete.

“Fiorentina? Who knows, it’s the team of my city. I followed them as a child, in the Curva Fiesole. My family and friends are all Viola fans.

“But I want to repeat: at Cagliari I found everything I was looking for.”

Cragno also discussed some of his goalkeeping idols.

“The greatest is [Gianluigi] Buffon, my idol since childhood. I’m not even remotely comparing myself to him, because the distance is astronomical.

“What I admire about him is his essence, I like substance more than form. I also like [Jan] Oblak and [David] De Gea abroad, and [Wojciech] Szczesny and [Mattia] Perin in Italy.

“Gigio Donnarumma? He follows me about, he should be arrested for stalking!  I'm joking, Gigio is a friend, not a rival.

“He has the ability to become the best Italian goalkeeper in many years.”
