Philippe Coutinho is desperate to be named in the Inter side again after scoring in the 2-1 win over Cagliari.

The youngster was given a rare start at the weekend and he’s hungry to establish himself with the Nerazzurri.

“I’m interested in playing and I don’t care where – even if I feel like a central attacking midfielder,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

“Nevertheless, being asked to play out wide is not a problem for me.

“Us youngsters need to play even if we need to be inserted into the team with calmness. Patience is needed.

“However, working alongside great champions has helped me a lot. Italian football is very different – you have to try to do everything in an instant.”

The Brazilian, still just 19, joined the Nerazzurri last year from Vasco Da Gama and was picked with regularity by previous boss Rafa Benitez.

“Benitez believed in me and I thank him for that,” the teen added. “He gave me a new role and that allowed me space in an important team.

“Now Claudio Ranieri tells me to stay calm and just reproduce what I do in training on the pitch in a real game.

“If the Coach needs me then I am ready.”

Coutinho has been linked with a possible loan switch away from San Siro in an effort to give him more opportunities of first team football.

Nevertheless, the South American would seemingly prefer to fight for his place at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“I can’t decide the future on my own. If I had my way then I would stay at Inter for the rest of my career…”
