Ex-Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta is delighted that Rossoneri Coach Pippo Inzaghi appears set to keep Riccardo Saponara.

Ex-Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta is delighted that Rossoneri Coach Pippo Inzaghi appears set to keep Riccardo Saponara.

The 22-year-old midfielder only arrived at San Siro from Empoli last year but has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

However, it appears the player is part of the new boss’ plans and, according to Costacurta, it is a welcome piece of news.

“It really is a good piece of news that Saponara is staying at Milan, I am very happy about it,” he told reporters.

“The boy can become a starter at the Rossoneri, all he needs to do is prove it. We need to give these youngsters a chance without fear.”
