Eugenio Corini admits beating Roma at the Olimpico in stoppages was “what makes doing this work worthwhile.”
The Flying Donkeys secured a 1-0 victory with Cyril Thereau in the final minute.
“Winning in Rome at the 90th minute was a wonderful feeling and nights like this are what make doing this work worthwhile,” said the Coach.
“The players worked hard and very quickly absorbed my ideas. I have to thank the staff for all their efforts too. Being safe with two rounds to go is a great achievement.
“Modern football is not made up of specific tactics, but of interpretations and principles of the sport. In my formation as a Coach, the teachings of Gigi Del Neri were very precious.”
Corini was drafted in as interim tactician, but could now be given the job full-time.
“We’ll see if there are the right conditions to continue together. The club’s philosophy is to discuss things at the end of the season.”
