Cordoba: ‘Inter have what it takes’

Ivan Cordoba assures fans that “Inter have what it takes to win the Club World Cup and will do everything to lift that trophy.”

The Nerazzurri are struggling in Serie A and the Champions League recently, but aim to bring out their best form in Abu Dhabi.

“We will do everything to lift that trophy. We are all here and feel important for the team, but the spirit and desire to do well are the most important things. Inter have what it takes to win the Club World Cup.”

Rafa Benitez is under pressure after already losing as many games as Jose Mourinho throughout the entirety of last season.

“There is not a big difference from last term, as we are still a side that works hard to achieve its objectives,” insisted Cordoba.

“Many have been achieved and others are still within our grasp. There is only a bit of a difficult situation in Serie A, but we have time to improve and it's happened in the past that we can go through a tough period.”

Inter will face the winners of today's game between Al-Wahda and Seongnam in the semi-final, then expect to take on Brazilians Internacional in the Final.

“We respect all our opponents. Clearly Internacional are a strong side who play good football and have a lot of experience.

“These tournaments are the dream for every player and can be a unique experience. Stepping into the stadium for this Press conference reminded me of how I felt in my first World Cup with Colombia.”
