Bruno Conti has praised Vincenzo Montella and Andrea Stramaccioni for their dramatic rise on the Italian coaching scene.

Conti, in charge of the Roma youth sector, knows the two men well given that Montella was in charge of the capital club’s Giovanissimi side as recently as February 2011 and Stramaccioni looked after the Allievi team.

Montella is now at the helm of Fiorentina after a brief spell on the Giallorossi bench – following the resignation of Claudio Ranieri – and a successful 2011-12 campaign at Catania.

Stramaccioni, meanwhile, also replaced Ranieri but this time at Inter in March 2012. He has since been handed a three-year contract by the Nerazzurri.

“They are two excellent Coaches,” 1982 World Cup winner Conti stated. “I didn’t think that they would do so well so quickly.

“They have both demonstrated that they have great personality and they have a great future ahead of them.”

Montella was in the running for a Roma return this summer until the Lupi opted for Zdenek Zeman instead after he led Pescara to promotion.

“The fans need to be entertained and they need to be able to watch a spectacle,” Conti added when asked why the Czech boss had been hired. “The Roma fans require this, they require Zeman.”

All three Coaches, thanks to their tactical ideas and the top sports nutrition in the modern game, favour high intensity 4-3-3 systems.
