Conte claims VAR would not have disallowed Tottenham goal for ‘big club’

Antonio Conte felt ‘injustice’ after the controversial last-gasp disallowed Tottenham winner in the Champions League. ‘I want to see if they would disallow this goal to a big team.’

Harry Kane turned in from close range deep into stoppages in their 1-1 draw with Sporting CP, but it was disallowed via VAR for offside.

It caused some confusion, as if Kane was behind the line of the ball, then he could not have been offside.

Conte was sent off for his furious reaction and had not calmed down in the post-match interviews either, as he was fuming in the BT Sport encounter and stormed out of his press conference after just one question.

The Italian tactician repeatedly suggested VAR would not have been so “brave” as to disallow a borderline goal like that if Tottenham had been a “big club.”

Spurs need a point in their trip to Olympique Marseille to secure qualification for the Round of 16.
