Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra feels Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran should ‘absolutely’ join Milan.

Duran, 20, has been linked with a move to the Stadio Meazza in the January transfer window but has recently said that he is only focused on Aston Villa.

Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, one of the most popular journalists in the country, has spoken to TMW about the Rossoneri’s interest in his compatriot.

Would Duran be a good fit for Milan in January or at the end of the season?

“Absolutely, I think Jhon is perfect for Milan and would suit such a big club. He is strong, fast and is a real fighter,” the journalist replied.

“He is a striker but is not a classic centre forward. He handles the ball well, is fast, and can raise the pace without problems. He is young, but is already wise for his age.”

Duran has scored four goals in 23 appearances with Aston Villa this season. He joined the Premier League side in a €16.6m deal from Chicago Fire FC in January 2023.

“He needs to leave to get more playing time and play regularly,” continued Sierra.

“In Colombia, we don’t understand why he hasn’t played much because he is a national team player. He is young, but he is already at a top level. Now, he must only get playing time.”

It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will get a new centre forward this month as summer signing Luka Jovic is finally settling in with five goals in his latest seven appearances across all competitions.

Milan will surely get a new striker next summer regardless of the future of Olivier Giroud whose contract expires in June 2024. The France international is reportedly tempted to join an MLS side in the summer.
