The agent of Domenico Criscito has played down suggestions that his client is set for a return to Italian football.
The left-back is currently playing in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, but he’s regularly associated with a move back to the peninsula.
“It’s too soon to talk about a transfer,” Andrea D’Amico told TMW. “There is a lot of interest in him, but he has a contract at Zenit until June 2016.”
The 26-year-old moved to his present outfit in the summer of 2011 after Genoa accepted a €10m offer for the former Juventus youngster.
Criscito is now back in action after knee ligament damage and he’s been included in the latest Azzurri squad.
“He’s very happy with the call-up and he feels in good form,” the representative added. “His objective for the season is to get to the World Cup in Brazil.”
Criscito missed Euro 2012 after he was named in one of the various match-fixing betting probes. He was later cleared of any wrongdoing.
