Chivu’s new head

Cristian Chivu is delighted with the winning goal he scored for Inter last night, not least because it came via his 'new head'.

The 30-year-old Romania international has been wearing a scrumcap for nearly a year now after fracturing his skull against Chievo.

Last night he gave Inter the lead in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Cesena at San Siro, which lifts his side into fourth place in Serie A.

"It's the first goal with the new head," he laughed.

"The important thing is that we won. I was in the area to score goals. Maicon did great. It was more difficult to mess it up than to score."
