“Roma are looking for results and we’ll try to make them uncomfortable,” Maran said in his pre-match Press conference.

“If we’re solid we can do well. I expect a difficult match right from the first whistle, we’re facing the team which is second in the League.

“For our part, we want to do well. We have to keep doing what we’re doing, the players are professionals who are training well and have a great willingness to work.

“Luciano Spalletti praised us? We’ve earned the respect of our opponents on the pitch, with our performances and through the courage with which we approach matches.

“It’s nice to hear that there’s respect for Chievo, because I think we deserve it.”

Chievo will have to overcome an injury crisis if they’re to get anything from the match.

“[Lucas] Castro, [Bostjan] Cesar, [Fabrizio] Cacciatore, [Preparim] Hetemaj, [Massimo] Gobbi, [Gennaro] Sardo and [Andrea] Seculin won’t be called-up.

“I have great confidence though, I’ve never complained about missing a player. We have a long injury list, but I’m convinced we’ll go to Rome to do our best.”
