Inter are reportedly in close contact with both Chelsea and Manchester United as they work to sell Denzel Dumfries this month.
The 26-year-old Dutchman had a good World Cup, particularly in the match against the United States, and looks set to be the first team player sold to help the club’s financial situation, similar to the sales of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi in 2021. With Milan Skriniar likely to leave on a free transfer in the summer, Inter are putting extra emphasis on the sale of Dumfries.
As reported by TMW, Chelsea and Manchester United have both been in contact with Inter to discuss a deal for Dumfries, with the latter holding more involved talks. Neither club have submitted an offer yet but the Nerazzurri are hoping to receive one before the end of the transfer window.
Dumfries was left on the bench for Inter’s 1-0 win over Hellas Verona but did briefly feature in both of the other two games of 2023 against Napoli and Monza.
