Cagliari fans will reportedly protest against President Massimo Cellino today, claiming he dropped them for Leeds United.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Sardinian supporters have lost patience with their patron, who has been at the helm for 20 years.
Cellino has been paying the bills at Leeds for two months, despite the fact his takeover of the Championship club still has to be given the all-clear by the authorities.
It’s believed some of his comments infuriated the Cagliari ultras, especially when he said Leeds was like driving a Ferrari after a Fiat 500.
He assured the fans that a buyer had been found for Cagliari, but so far there have only been reports of American and Qatari investors.
If Cellino’s attempts to buy Leeds United are scuppered, he may well find the Cagliari supporters no longer want him in charge.
