The UEFA chief wrote a letter to confirm that during the meetings with the 55 UEFA affiliated associations, the dates for the conclusion of the European national leagues were only ‘recommendations, provisionally formulated and unofficial’.
“The dates of July 20 (for national associations ranked from 16th to 55th in the UEFA ranking) and August 3 (from 1st to 15th place) were described in the presentations made at meetings with secretaries and Presidents of UEFA’s 55 affiliated associations on April 21 and at meetings between UEFA, the European Club Association and Union of European Leagues working groups,” Ceferin’s letter obtained by Les Parisien read.
“However, during these meetings, we have always mentioned that these dates are only recommendations, provisionally formulated and unofficial.”
