Edinson Cavani’s father tells Spanish media he’s “50 per cent” likely to join Real Madrid, while Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis admits “if he decides to leave…”
Much has been said recently about Cavani’s future and the €70m buy-out clause in his contract, as Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, PSG, Anzhi and Real Madrid have all been linked.
Reports circulated that Real were his first choice and Luis Cavani, his father and representative, spoke to Marca TV.
“At the moment Edinson has a 50 per cent chance of signing for Real Madrid. Napoli turned down offers from many clubs, but I think that if a proposal for €60m arrived then Edinson would be sold.
“It’s not easy to negotiate with Napoli.”
President De Laurentiis also fuelled speculation when a fan asked on Twitter if he could lock down Cavani to a stronger deal.
“If a player decides to leave, then there’s no contract that can hold him… I hope Cavani will stay for ever, but it will depend on him.”
