Cavani: ‘If PSG lose to Napoli…’

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani admits “if we lose to Napoli it’ll be very difficult to get through the Champions League group”.

The Uruguayan will return to the Stadio San Paolo for the first time on Tuesday, providing he’s fit, in what is a crucial match for the French champions.

“Going back to that stadium, with all those fans, will be emotional,” Cavani told the Golden Foot’s official channel after being awarded the prize.

“It’ll be a good match and we need to show that we’ve made a leap in quality and that we can deal with pressure like this. If we lose to Napoli it’ll be very difficult to get through the Champions League group.”

Cavani also addressed rumours that his relationship with strike partners Kylian Mbappé and Neymar are strained.

“It’s not true that we don’t get along. We’re a work in progress, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t get along.

“I hope that working with [Coach Thomas] Tuchel can give the team the perfect structure to have a great season together.”
