Causio: ‘Dybala can play with Morata and Ronaldo’

Italy World Cup winner Franco Causio says he is ‘looking forward’ to seeing Dybala start for Juventus and insists La Joya can play with Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Dybala is very strong, he can win games alone,” Causio told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I never had doubts about him, I’m happy to see him starting.”

Andrea Pirlo confirmed yesterday La Joya will have a spot in his starting XI against Verona this evening and the former Juventus striker is looking forward to it.

Andrea Pirlo confirmed yesterday La Joya will have a spot in his starting XI against Verona this evening and the former Juventus striker is looking forward to it.

“Paulo is on another level, he knows how to win games like few others. There have been a lot of talks about his game time, but he had physical issues. This time Pirlo will start him, it means he is well and is 100% recovered.

“With his left foot he can strike from almost all positions: as a trequartista or as a support striker. He can be deadly. I find it more difficult to imagine him as a winger in an attacking trident.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently out of action as he tested positive for Covid two weeks ago but Causio believes the Portuguese star can play alongside Dybala and Alvaro Morata once he returns to action.

“Sure thins, indeed. I am super favorable to a heavy trident,” Causio said.

“There is little to say about Ronaldo,” he continued.

“We are talking about a sensational professional. Despite his age, his body is perfect and he still has a great desire to win. Motivation is often the most important aspect. I still consider him the best. Obviously along with Messi.”

Scorer of 72 goals in 452 games with Juventus between 1970 and 1981, Causio believes Federico Chiesa still needs time.

“I’m waiting for his final leap in quality. It will only come with time.

“He is in a top club now, he plays in the Champions League and he will face the strongest teams in Europe. Consecration, for someone like him, will be a natural passage.”

Causio concludes by saying that the Old Lady’s boss Pirlo needs trust.

“It’s a gamble, but I wish him to find the best team immediately. He has simple ideas and a complete team, just trust him.”
