FIGC President Giancarlo Abete believes that Antonio Cassano's training ground altercation with Andrea StramaccioniFIGC President Giancarlo Abete believes that Antonio Cassano's training ground altercation with Andrea Stramaccioni was 'an accident'.
The Inter striker had to be pulled away from his Coach last Thursday after a frank exchange of views, which subsequently saw the forward left out of the squad for Catania and fined €40,000.
But the head of the Italian football federation has insisted that these things can be overcome.
“[Inter President Massimo] Moratti's comments on Cassano are important and show that the club have the desire to overcome this problem,” he told reporters.
“Cassano may be 'an artist' but there is also a way of behaving in football – because this game has a specific hierarchy.
“But I think that this was just an accident.”
