‘Casa Milan’ plans revealed

Milan have today revealed ambitious new plans to build a new permanent headquarters.

The new Rossoneri base is set to include a laboratory, ticket office, giant screen, store, museum, restaurant, board room and other offices.

Milan have today revealed ambitious new plans to build a new permanent headquarters.

The new Rossoneri base is set to include a laboratory, ticket office, giant screen, store, museum, restaurant, board room and other offices.

“For me Milan is much more than a simple organisation, but more like a family,” the club’s deputy chief executive Barbara Berlusconi said at a Press-conference to announce the plans.

“We needed a base at which we can watch our matches but which can also act as a meeting place.

“For the city of Milan, Italy and for the whole world. We are sorry to be leaving Via Turati but we can’t grow anymore there.

“We have decided to leave Via Turati and thanks to the sale of it we have been able to realise this project.

“It is not only a headquarters but will also be important from a commercial perspective. It’s a courageous project aimed at developing our brand, which is a vital asset for us.

“We believe in it a lot, despite it coming at a difficult economic period.

“By making this investment, we will be able to increase our income and we will grow.

“On the stadium itself we are still assessing various options which will enable us to take a big leap forward to compete with the other top European clubs.

“Casa Milan will be much more than a simple home. We want to create participation and unity.

“There will be a museum, a megastore and a restaurant inspired by the food that our champions eat.

“It will be a perfect way to represent the change and the dynamics of our future plans.

“Milan have always served an important sporting purpose, but also a social one. We hope to give a great boost to this particular area of Milan.

“The square that we will build will be one of the biggest in the city. Let’s hope that in the future the fans can come here to celebrate the club’s victories.”

Berlusconi then commented on the club’s separate and ongoing plans to build and own a stadium of their own.

“The stadium is vital. To move forward, we need our own stadium.

“The Italian system has not helped us and it has become imperative that we build our own ground.

“It won’t be easy, we are evaluating various options. I’ve heard talk about the Expo Area but we are looking at others too.

“With the stadium we want to take a different path.”
