Paolo Cannavaro says his Napoli side are still targeting the Scudetto – despite the nine-point gap between them and leaders Juventus.

The Azzurri have just nine games left to finish a point ahead of the Old Lady – Juve have the better head-to-head record – but the club captain insists anything is possible.

“We’ll still believe in the championship until it is mathematically impossible,” the 31-year-old commented.

“The Bianconeri are a hard team, but the Champions League often takes points away at home.”

Although Cannavaro is dreaming of the title, he admits how important it is for the Azzurri to maintain their present position.

“We need to still defend second place,” he added.

“That would be an exceptional result when you consider the teams behind us in the standings. And Milan are not the only team chasing us…”

Napoli are two points clear of the Diavolo, five clear of Fiorentina and nine ahead of Roma, Inter and Lazio.
