The former Empoli Coach was appointed after Rafa Benitez left to take over at Real Madrid, despite having only one season of Serie A experience.
“Sarri was fantastic last term and I really enjoyed his style of football at Empoli,” Cannavaro told Il Mattino newspaper.
“However, watch out. Sarri needs time. I ask myself whether the environment around Napoli will have the patience to wait.”
It has also been reported that Higuain could walk away after failure to qualify for the Champions League.
“Why shouldn’t he stay? When we last spoke, he told me he was very happy at Napoli.”
Pipita was on target last night in the Copa America, sealing Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Jamaica.
