Esteban Cambiasso insists that Inter could easily have won – rather than lost – to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday.

The Nerazzurri went into last night’s Champions League game with first place already secured, before they fell to a 2-1 home defeat to the Russian outfit.

“It always hurts to lose games, but this time less than others,” the Argentine, who scored for the Nerazzurri, told Sky Sport Italia.

“We certainly had the right mentality going into the tie, but that's football for you. We had the chance to win it five minutes from the end and then they scored…

“The positive note tonight was that some of the youngsters had the chance to show what they can do.

“The injured players will be returning soon? It's important for the Coach to have options, that's a plus.”

Inter could now face Basel, Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, Marseille or Zenit in the next round of the competition.
