A ‘very happy’ Hakan Calhanoglu says ‘my position isn’t a problem’ after playing box to box during Milan’s 2-0 win against Novara.
Calhanoglu ended last season as the left winger in Gattuso’s 4-3-3 formation, but the Turkey international began preseason with a cameo as Milan’s ‘mezz’ala’ in central midfield.
“I feel good but I’m tired. I'm not at peak fitness, of course,” he said after the game.

“We worked hard this week. There’s a great atmosphere, we’ve been training well and hard.
“We didn’t have much energy, but the important thing was to win. Milan in the Europa League? We’re very happy.
“Position on the pitch? I know the role of mezz’ala because I played there in Germany.
“The important thing is what the Coach wants from me, regardless of the role. My position isn’t a problem.”
