Cagliari have apologised to Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi after he claimed to have experienced racism between the two sides on Saturday.
Matuidi wrote a Facebook post after Juve’s 1-0 win against Cagliari to explain the racist abuse he received at the Sardegna Arena, and the Rossoblu issued a response to the Frenchman on Twitter.
“You’re a great player, an example to young players,” the message read.

“Racism has nothing to do with the Sardinian people. Only ignorance can explain certain behaviour. Respect.”
