Buffon ‘would leave for maxi-offer’

Gianluigi Buffon is not in negotiations to leave Juventus, says his agent, “unless there is a maxi-offer.”

The Juventus goalkeeper has repeatedly been linked with a move this summer, especially as the club could use his sale to raise funds and strengthen the squad.

Roma are the main contenders for his signature, although Buffon's agent paints a different picture.

“I know Roma's new director of sport Walter Sabatini, but we have never talked about Gigi,” Silvano Martina told Romanews.eu.

“I know Roma's new director of sport Walter Sabatini, but we have never talked about Gigi,” Silvano Martina told Romanews.eu.

“There are no negotiations going on and, besides, my client already plays for a great squad like Juventus.”

However, Martina did leave the door open for a potential switch at the right price after Juventus failed to qualify for Europe.

“Buffon is under contract with Juve for another two years and will not move from here. The only reason he could leave would be in exchange for a maxi-offer.”
