Inter remain confident that Marcelo Brozovic will extend his expiring contract, but the Croatia international has reportedly taken time after receiving an offer from Barcelona.
The 29-year-old’s contract at the Stadio Meazz expires in the summer and Inter have been in talks with the player’s entourage for several months now.
Reports in Italy suggested Brozovic and Inter had shaken hands on a new €6m-a-year deal until 2026, but according to Calciomercato.com, Barcelona have made their move to sign the Croatia international as a free agent at the end of the season.
Inter are confident that their midfielder will eventually put pen to paper on a new deal, but Brozovic has taken some time before making a final decision.
The player has received an offer from Barcelona and is tempted to join the Catalans in the summer.
Brozovic has played a key role for Inter this season, having featured in 29 games out of 30. He only missed a Coppa Italia Round of 16 clash with Empoli due to suspension.
