Brozovic injury worries Inter

Inter are anxiously awaiting news from medical tests amid fears Marcelo Brozovic suffered a serious ankle sprain.

The Croatia international limped off during the final minutes of their 1-1 Serie A draw with Lecce on Sunday afternoon following a clash with Alessandro Deiola.

According to Sky Sport Italia, he left the Stadio Via del Mare on crutches and will not have the necessary tests until Tuesday.

This will give time for the swelling to go down and a more accurate picture of the damage.

There are fears it could be a serious sprain, requiring several weeks on the sidelines.

It could in turn affect transfer strategy, as Inter are already trying to bring in Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur, but may well try to keep Matias Vecino if Brozovic is a long-term absentee.
