The Viola are two points behind with one game to go, but have a superior head-to-head record so finishing level would send the Tuscans through to the Champions League.
“There is a minimal chance of reaching the Champions League zone, but we have to go to Pescara in order to win and then we’ll see what happens,” the Spaniard told Sport Mediaset.
“Fiorentina have had an extraordinary season. Milan have done well too, but I think we deserve third place more.”
Borja Valero has already become a fan favourite in his debut Serie A season, though Spanish players rarely deliver in Italy.
“When I first arrived in Italy, I thought it would be difficult to play here, but right from the start I felt great. I had a lot of fun and with Vincenzo Montella we play in a similar style to Barcelona. I hope we can win something together soon.”
His success has seen the former Villarreal midfielder linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.
“I don’t want to talk about it. The only truth is that I still have many years on my contract with Fiorentina and I’m happy in Florence.”
